ELL
Mission Statement
Woodford County's EL program provides small group and in-class collaborative instruction to English language learners in our district. We strive to increase students' academic English language and social English language. Together, the EL teachers and classroom teachers provide instruction to EL students to give them the opportunity to access the Common Core Standards while learning the English language. Overall, we provide students with equal access and ability to obtain academic success at a level comparable to their native English-speaking peers.
ACCESS Testing
ACCESS is a test given to identified English language learners from Kindergarten through 12th grade to assess their level of English language proficiency, as well as measure progress in academic English. They are given this test every January until they reach a composite proficiency score of 4.5 in the domains of Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing.
