Superintendent’s Report

  • Dr. Lori Jones shared about the wonderful start to the school year that Woodford County Public Schools has experienced throughout the district. Thank you to all of the community members who came to one of our Hold for the HIVE: Tax Rate Presentations. If you could not attend in person, please visit the "Budget Transparency" tab on our district website. Board Presentations
  • School Report: Mrs. Kristen Wilson, Principal of Safe Harbor Academy, presented on the supports, structures, initiatives, and big rocks in place this year. She shared about the excitement of Safe Harbor Academy being at a new campus. (SHA is now held at the WCPS Central Office.) For example, SHA now has room for its first ever student library!   • Curriculum & Instruction Update: WCPS Chief Academic Officer Ryan Asher shared the three big rocks of the Office of Teaching & Learning. The big rocks for the 2026-2027 school year are as follows:

    • Strong Local Curriculum

    • Student Accommodations & Modifications 

    • Goal Getters!

The Consent Agenda was approved, which included: donations, fundraisers, travel, contracts, waivers, surplus property, WCHS school fees, staff handbook, and grants.

Regular Agenda Items

The Regular Agenda was approved, which included: the notification of personnel matters, July Board meeting minutes, notification of payment of bills, July financial report/treasurer’s report, FY27 Tax Rate, Milestone Towers School Partnership Program, KSBA Annual Policy Update second reading, use of emergency teaching certificates, option for Pisgah Pike property, and additional contracts.
