WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. — Woodford County Public Schools (WCPS) is thrilled to announce that all WCPS Preschool programs received the highest possible rating through the Kentucky All STARS system. Each of our elementary schools are now Level 5 preschools.

The Kentucky ALL STARS standards are based on the following domains: Family and Community Engagement; Classroom and Instructional Quality; Staff Qualifications and Professional Development; and Administrative and Leadership Practices. Earning the highest level in all of these areas is a significant accomplishment. Kim Johnson, WCPS Coordinator of Districtwide Programs, says, “I am so thankful for the work of our team. Our preschool teachers, instructional assistants, and support staff understand the importance of early childhood education, and they are committed to providing our youngest learners with an excellent education and opportunities.” Mrs. Johnson continues, “The first five years of a child's life set the stage for everything that follows. Investing in high-quality early childhood education isn't just about preparing kids for kindergarten; it's about building the foundation that allows them to thrive for the rest of their lives.”

Superintendent Lori Jones is thrilled with the accomplishment of our preschools. She says, “I am so proud of the way our administrators, preschool teachers, and staff members have worked together throughout the district to provide Woodford County children with excellence, even at the youngest ages. For each of our preschool programs to achieve a Level 5 rating on the state quality system is nothing short of extraordinary. It speaks volumes about the dedication of our early childhood educators and the bright future of our students.”

Congratulations to all of our preschool staff members, schools, and families. We are ready for a Level 5 year!
