Posted Date: 08/06/25 (02:52 PM)

Good Afternoon Tiger Families,

We are SO excited to see our incoming 6th graders this Friday, August 8 for a special Tiger Bash!! 6th Grade Tiger Bash has two parts: 1) Just for students and 2) Both students and family.

  •  On Friday, students should be dropped off at Parent Drop Off/Pick up no earlier than 12:45 and no later than 1:00. No need to exit your vehicle.  Mrs. Heffner and a couple teachers will be outside to direct your child into the gym.
  • Part 1 - Students ONLY
    • In the gym they will collect their schedules and then go to the cafeteria to meet their advisory teachers!
    • From 1 - 3 our 6th grade team of teachers have planned important and fun activities where students will get a supply list, locker assignment and lock combination, and complete a scavenger hunt around the school building. Staff will be in the building ready to greet and help your students with lockers and the scavenger hunt!! This is a great time for students to rekindle friendships and make new friends before the first day of school.
  • Part 2 - Parents AND Students
    • At 3:00, students will be escorted up to the cafeteria for you to join them. We will have areas organized by Last name.  Please look for posted signs (ex. A-H, (I-P, Q-S, and T-Z) and find your child there.  You must come inside to pick up your child between 3:00 and 3:25.
    • Parents, if you are not attending Part 2, our open house, you are free to leave.
    • If you are staying for the Open House, then you are to join your child and  go directly  to the gym.  Please, do NOT go to other areas of the building.
    • Starting at 3:30, Mrs. Preston will complete a short welcome orientation for parents and students. Upon completion of the orientation, Open House will begin and go until 5:00. After Mrs. Preston's address, then families are welcome to explore the school . Respectfully, we ask that you not enter classrooms where teachers are not present (i.e. 7th and 8th grade classrooms).
    • Also - The gym will also have informational booths for you to explore.  We highly recommend you check these out!

Please email myself (amanda.rivera@woodford.kyschools.us), Mrs. Preston (rebecca.preston@woodford.kyschools.us) or Mrs. Heffner (mary.heffner@woodford.kyschools.us
